Our campsite was level, as were many other campsites we looked at. Privacy, shade, and condition of fire pits and tables was good. Toilets and drinking water spigots were well located and well maintained. The sand beach is excellent for swimming. The firewood was $11 USD for 1 cubic foot, but was bone dry hardwood that split easily, and burned very well.
Beautiful views of the lake. Very peaceful. Great kayaking. Only negative is the shower water turns off every 20 seconds. Need to change that. At least the water was warm.
Beautiful campground. I loved being near the water. We hiked Bear Mountain which is right there and just walked to the camp site. We hiked High Falls a few miles away. The beauty of nature is just unbelievable. It rained a few times but it didn't ruin our time there. It was wonderful. We will definitely return.
Very nice lake, quiet and the campground is excellent. Pleasant and friendly staff. The main gripe I had wasn't about the campground itself, the town surrounding is falling apart. A common theme in the northern country of NY unfortunately. We are the type of camper that likes to explore while we camp, check out shops and restaraunts, etc. if you are like us, skip Tupper lake which is also pretty run down and head over to Saranac lake which is a 45 minute drive or so. The campground workers helped us get our camper slide back in when our generator wouldn't start, they brought theirs over for us to use.
By far, best campground I have ever been to. Gorgeous lake, fantastic campsites with plenty of shade and room on the site and in between site, well maintained roads and amenities particularly the beach area and bathrooms. Will definitely be back.
Carly was such a sweet host that checked us in and answered all of our questions. We had to go back for a few requests and she was so helpful and patient while we worked out our needs.
The amenities were good. The campsites are very nice on the water and it was very serene.
This place gives a new view on chip and dale , their were a lot of rescue rangers, not so much rescuing as they were rampaging through ours and other peoples sites haha just about running over our feet like mice, I called the campground told them they were swarming our site they said they would come by and didn’t. eventually they went away, make sure every scrap of food is off of the ground no Cheerios left behind or you could have this issue. Apart from that the bathrooms were fairly cleaned no hot water in the bathroom in loop 2, hot water in the showers though wich are not in every loop theirs one building for showers for the campground.they do sell ice there wich is very convenient and reasonably priced.
Great camp sites, only thing i didn't like is there's only one shower area with 6 shower stalls.
